should I bring with me? |

night (it's best to dress in layers as the
temperature fluctuates during the day)

the weather like in the desert? |

In
winter: 20º – 30º C (68º – 86º F) during the
day, 4º – 5º C (39º – 41º F) at night. In
spring and fall: 25º – 45º C (77º - 95º F)
during the day and 7º – 8ºC (44º – 46º F) at
night.

3. How
much spending money should I bring with me in
the desert? |

You need only
enough for personal items like souvenirs, extra
drinks, extra snacks, laundry in hotel, etc.

proper to wear shorts? |

Shorts
in the desert is a bad idea as you might get sun
burned. However decent shorts are fine to wear.

alright to take pictures of locals? |

It is
appropriate to ask permission first. Your guide
can take care of that.

Personal and
Hygiene |

1. What
kind of hotel facilities can I expect? |

The
hotels vary depending on the expedition.
However, all hotels will be clean, comfortable,
and include hot water private bathrooms.

2. Do I
have access to bathrooms when camping? |
| |
Take a
few steps in any direction away from the camp
and close the imaginary door behind you :). Use
the toilet paper you’re bringing along and make
sure to burn it as it’s not biodegradable.

3. When
camping for several days, do I have access to
bathing facilities? |
| |
Water is
a valuable asset in the desert that needs to be
used wisely. We will use natural hot springs and
hotel facilities when available.

4. What
kind of tents will I be using? |

We
provide sealed bottom nylon tents. Each tent
accommodates two people.

Safety |
|
1. Is it
safe to camp at night with scorpions and snakes
around? |
| |
During
the winter, snakes and scorpions are in a state
of hibernation. So it is very unlikely for you
to encounter any. In the summer, your guide will
explain how to avoid them and how to choose the
safest camping spot.

of emergency, do we have contact with the
outside world? |

All of
our expeditions include satellite phones and VHF
radios. We can contact the outside world if
needed.

the cars be carrying first aid? |

All of
our expeditions include a first aid kit.
However, you will need to bring any prescription
medication you require.

our free time is it safe to explore and climb
mountains? |

It is
safe to explore and climb mountains as long as
you avoid climbs that have an above average risk
factor. An injury in such a remote place is very
hard to handle.

You will
have ample time to explore. During each day’s
briefing, your guide will discuss this point.

plenty of time for photography.
